Level up your digital notes
If you’re shifting to digital notes, Nebo is a premium app you should check out. Not only does it support dictation and pen and keyboard inputs, it also boasts the ability to recognize your handwriting and convert it into digital text.
With features such as the marker, lasso tool, and the like, you can unleash your creativity, personalizing your notes however you like. In addition, losing an entire library of notes will be the least of your worries, as Nebo allows for file backup in case of data loss. However, this app is not compatible with drawing tablets.
A page type for your needs
Nebo has three page types, with the first one being the Nebo Note — which is an infinite canvas designed for a host of academic, professional, and creative pursuits, from mind mapping to illustrating figures and creating aesthetic reviewers. The second one is Nebo Document, a more structured page type that includes a custom dictionary and supports the copying of math equations as an image or in LaTex format.
Apart from shape conversion — which turns hand-drawn shapes into digital drawings — both the Nebo Note and Document support pen gestures. Whether it’s striking through a text to erase it or drawing an upward vertical line to combine paragraphs, lines, or words, such gestures allow for faster, more seamless editing. Finally, with the PDF page type, you can import PDFs into your library for easy consolidation of notes.
This page type’s functionalities also extend to text annotation, page number editing, page deletion, and many more. Despite the app’s host of functions, it’s still missing a few quality-of-life features, such as a multi-view option or a quick-access shortcut to enable users to switch from one note page to another fuss-free. Not to mention, you can’t disable user tips or the auto-detect pen function.
Needs more quality-of-life features
Despite being a paid app, Nebo is worth the time and investment. Ideal for students, professionals, and creatives, it boasts responsive pen gestures and handwriting inputs and comes packed with a boatload of features — such as a custom dictionary, an infinite Nebo Note, shape conversion, and many more. Implementing shortcuts or a multi-view option, though, will help enhance the user experience.
